Bicentenario

This coin features the Independence Column, a landmark built in the middle of one of the most important avenues of Mexico City to commemorate the Centennial of Mexican Independence. The centre of the coin features the sculpture of Winged Victory that crowns the Independence Column.  The back of the coin depicts the national coat of arms surrounded by the “Estados Unidos Mexicanos” motto with the inscription “Independencia y Libertad”.

Please note that the “Bicentenario” pieces will coexist with the traditional “Centenario”.
