Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla y José María Morelos y Pavón

This coin features the image of Mexico’s national heroes of the independence. On the right hand side stands Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, father of the country, and, on the left side, the Army General José María Morelos y Pavón who holds in his right hand a saber and in his left the “Sentimientos de la Nación” or “Nation’s Feelings” document. The back of the coin depicts the national coat of arms surrounded by the “Estados Unidos Mexicanos” motto.
